Message: a few weeks ago i posted a message about my turck shaking at about 25 mph. everyone sugested that i replace the u joints. well i did change all of them and the mid joint. The rattling noise has stoped but the shaking has continued. i have also had the rear axles and transmision checked, and both are fine. I am just wondering if anyone has any more sugestions. I have a 97 5.2 with 150,000 miles. Any advise would great. thanks

Message: Chasing down a vibration can be difficult. First try and differentiate drivelin from suspension. Get it up to about 30mph on a downhill slide. Put it in OD Off or 2nd, and let engine braking slow you down to 20 mph. Take the same piece of road and coast in neutral.
If you feel the vibration in gear, it's probably driveline. If also felt in neutral, it's probably suspension.
For engine, look at motor and trans mounts, differential wear, front engine components, etc.
For suspension, think bent axles, wheel balance, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering racks, etc. Even worn brakes can sometime (but not often) cause a vibration.
You just have to use your head and play detective.
