2000 QC auto 116,000. No major engine problems, just press. switch for the power steering pump leaking, ac clutch & right bank O2 sensor. On the truck, had to change all 4 power window motors and all 4 power door locks within the first 2 years. I had to replace the ac evaporator, upper ball joints and I replaced the front rotors with performance rotors to try and keep the back end from locking up when braking hard and making the truck shake like crazy from the lousy abs system.

2000 QC 163,000.

Front brakes and rotors - best solution get better quality rotor at O'reilly with ceramic pads (no warpage), much less dust. Worse braking until they bed in.

TPS sensor.
Diff. fluid changes twice with LS additive from Autozone.
Trans drain and filters, yearly, now with ATF+4.
waterpump (leaking, not sure if bad)
serpetine belt (did not break, just to be safe)
greased idler pulleys, probably should replace.
2 or 3 sets of plugs. (Platinums do last better, but still changed them early)
thermostat (leaking housing).
rear door locking solenoid (replace whole assembly).
Oil every 2500 with Valvoline and Fram filter
K&N air filter pretty much since 10,000 mi., cleaned yearly.

Anybody tried E85 in these? I'm tempted to start in wife's Stratus (FFV) now that it is about $1 less/gal. Will the 4.7 that is not FFV have issues?

150000 on 2000 4.7 4x4 quite a few problems. of course the warped rotors, the whole rack and pinion had to be replaced, i'm on my FIFTH power steering pump, the rear end went out and the entire axle had to be replaced, the exhaust manifold rusted through, the thermostat went out, the fan clutch had to be replaced, the ac clutch JUST went out. but most of this was covered under the extended warranty i purchased which def. paid for itself! other than all these problems great truck that gets around 19-20mpg on the highway doing 70.

I have you all beat! I am the second owner of an 01' club cab, wish it was at least 3 doors by the way. No mechanical problems at all, Ive done front wheel bearings, brakes, battery, Just small stuff, ive got 258,000 on it as of today! I bought it two years ago with 203,000, from a guy who builds stock cars for a living. Truck it great. 3 sets of tires is in two years, i drive the piss out of it and it never gives up, little trick i learned too, when you get close to the 98 mph goven, turn the key foward a little bit and it will shut of the electronics, including the govern!

2002 regular cab sport 4.7. 60000 miles. get 15.3 mpg in city 20.5 highway.

blower motor resistor failed (warranty replacement}

computer failed (warranty)

passenger window regulator (warranty replacement) still slower than driver side

passenger caliper locked up

must replace brakes and rotors every 25,000 miles

changed plugs at 30,000 mile from factory to NGK ZFR6FIX-11 iridium and improved gas mileage from 14.7 in city to 15.3. quicker accelleration and smoother idle. costs about $8.00 a plug though

Have owned truck for 6 yrs and very satisfied.

Sounds like they might have missed something affecting the transfer case. I plow my 2000, and the original transfer case is still perfect.

i bought my 2000 cc slt this past june with just a wee bit over 80000 km(50000 mi). she now has around 105000km(65000 mi) i drive the piss out of her as well, (being 18 with a real heavy foot and a long bloodline to match) and shes given me no problems until very recently, the brake switch gave out so i have no brake lights and my command start doesnt kick out, but no big deal, i prefer the gas pedal anyway. also, my power steering doesnt work til the truck moves a bit but that could have something to do with the temperature up here in manitoba going below -40 degrees celcius with the wind and me being kicked out of the garage to make room for my sisters 95 neon!?!
also my mom drives a 2002 durango 4.7 with almost 200000km(125000mi) and the only problem shes had is the power steering pump and her front diff bearings. all in all, i love my 4.7

I love these trucks! My first was a 98 with a 5.2 and my second one is a 2002 Quad Cab 4 x 4. I have 225000km on it and have not touched the motor. Still has the original plugs in it. All of the fluids are synthetic. I change the oil every 15000 to 20000km and use Mobil one. It runs like a bat out of hell. I dont know about the top speed cut out thing. I have had mine to 200 km per hour a few times. Its a little scary! make sure the road is flat, straight and closed. as for the brakes I do ceramic pads with the Mopar rotors. I have 98000km so far on this set.
