1997 Dakota Sport / 8.25 rear dif.
I had a look at the rear end. It doesn't look good. The ring and spider gear is wearing badly.(I was hoping the whining was just another Ford guy) I need to replace it before it gets much worse. I am looking into aftermarket gears. Detriot, Powertrax etc... Any suggestions or experience would be helpful.

get the Detroit locker. I have been beating the heck out of mine for about 5 years. It always puts the power to both tires when you need it....Mine is a 93, I couldn't get the power trax in the Auburn carrier...sent it back because they didn't have a solution for the 8-3/8" rear end..
