I want to go to a carb on my 93 Dakota
with 360 crate short block, and retain the stock
OBD1 computer for the guages and charging, has anyone done this.
Is there anything special to wire in and fool the computer.

The computer won't like it? Screw the computer. This has been done many times. You will need the Mopar Performance ignition kit:
http://store.yahoo.com/chucker54/elconkit.html
This book ($10) Small Block "A" engines...
http://store.yahoo.com/chucker54/mopper.html
has the wire splicing procedure to bypass the ASD, which is necessary to keep your other systems operative. I've read that these instructions are included in the Mopar Performance ignition conversion as well. It's just a couple wires, but the book has loads of info.
You will need to either use a dual outlet fuel pressure regulator with a fuel return line to the fuel tank, or an inline fuel pump for carburetor use (so as to not flood the carb with excess fuel pressure).
You will also need a simple toggle switch to power up the overdrive solenoid if you have an automatic.
Finally, you'll need one of those 4-inch tachometers to monitor the engine. Well, maybe not the 4-incher, but your OEM tach runs through the computer, and it won't work.
For the "check engine" warning light, either unplug it, or ignore it.
I use the Mallory single inlet, dual outlet fuel pressure regulator on my Gen1. Might be another detail or two for yours, but that's the bulk of it.

Thanks for the information,my truck is not driven on the street, I love the fuel injection we just want to be more consistent, with out going to a stand alone Accel or FAST EFI system $, I have won races with it, but it was on my reaction time only, not the predictabilty of the truck.
