Subject: 2001 5.9 Pinging! IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing pinging on their 2001 5.9's. The dealer could not flash, fix or sugguest anything . If you've fixed this problem, what did you do? Any sugguestions would greatly be appreciated...

Message: try switching to a 180 degree thurmostat, and get some auto light plugs part # is 3923
the plugs are only .99 and are one heat range colder than stock. it really helps with detonation!
make sure the plugs are the 3923's COPPER

Message: Check to see if the belly pan gasket is leaking. Look down throttle bores of throttle body and see if there is any oil residue puddled in intake. Ive seen them blown with as little as 10K miles. Terrible design by Dodge :(
