Message: i'm about to change my rear diff oil and was thinking about putting in Mobil 1 75w-90 gear oil and was wondering if anyone was running this oil in their dak and their thoughts on it.
Also, i've got a 99' 5.2 4X4 is there a drain plug on the diff? i didn't see one i was just trying to avoid cracking the whole pumpkin open. Thanks for input

Message: I used mobil 1 75w-90 and 2 bottles of dodge additive for '00 dakota w/ limited slip over 30k miles with no problems....that corrected the chatter I had on corners.

Message: Army Dak, The Mobil 1 is what I use in my 98, 5.2 4X4. Remove the inspection cover bolts and pop the cover off. You want to do this so you can remove all the debris etc that will be in there. I used some carb cleaner to flush as much as I could out before closing it up and installiing the Mobil 1. I did this for the front as well as the rear. Some RTV silicone will seal the cover just fine - no gasket necessary.

Message: If you can get some of the gasket sealant used by the dodge dealership. You can go buy a tube of it. I have had many people swear by it, even mechanics for other brands of cars.

Message: For sealer get "The Right Stuff." It's especially good for the plenum gasket.
