Sup fellas well iv been drivin my sisters 02 GT and it is a little faster than my R/T. Its also funner(5spd). My R/T is a pig on gas milage no fun cause of auto and is heavy. my best is 14.7@93 with CAI, flowmaster muff, hypertech programmer, and shortys. Mach 1's dip into mid 13's stock. they look bad ass too. what do u guys think i should do?

im gonna start off by saying that youre gonna have whatever makes you happy, and we're all baised here..
but heres my opinion anyways:
mustangs are everywhere. they catch no ones eye because there is literally a gagillion on the road. extremely difficult to have one that stands out in a crowd. i would keep plugging away at the r/t, and make it just as fast if not faster. im not saying if you dump a grand into it thats gonna smoke every mustang out there, or even half of them... BUT- youre gonna get a lot more respect if youve got a 4300lb brick edging a nice stang out, and even if ya dont beat 'em.. youre gonna look damn good hanging pretty close.
i wouldnt trade my r/t for anything. its unique, and theyre not on every corner.

It up to you on if you want to keep the dak or not. But I would suggest a Cobra over the Mach 1 anyday.

Mustangs have to have about the BEST sound from some nice pipes.
I WILL say that!
Better than the empty sound some of the trucks running around with fake duals have :(
I like the way my exhaust sounds on my Dak. But I wouldn't run dual exists until I could do true duals. The dual exits just sound FUNKY for what you would EXPECT duals to sound like.
But MUSTANGS HAVE true duals.
And yes, go with the COBRA if anything.
I could have got one of those for what this 4X4 Dak cost me. But, it wont pull my trailer or fit my family as well. So there you have it.
Oh, last thing. The R/T you HAVE is something you wont see on every corner as someone else already said.

You should get a Buick Grand National if you want something that really stands out. When I had my 87 Grand Nantional everyones head would turn when I drove by. Actualy there heads looked up first because those cars sound like jets with their 3.8 turbo. To bad a bus hit me. I only wish I could pop up the front tires with my Dak. Maybe some day...

yea even when im up at school, i go to Uconn and dorm there, i see freakin mustangs everywhere. i see a bunch of them every single day that it gets boring. sometimes ill see people turn to look as a mustang is coming down the road but as soon as they see its a mustang the look away. now when im in the r/t they will look to see wats makin all the noise and as i drive by the heads will follow. its just so nice being the only kid out of 15 thousand kids whos got an r/t. its nice to be different believe me. and besides, get some 4.56 gears and drag radials and u will run the streets.

I was stopping at this gas station for a drink between jobs.
I parked next to this thing and started talking to the dude.
As I was poking around I mention the Early 80's Cadillac transmission from a FWD Cadi (NOT transverse mounted) and he was like, "Yeah it is. Nobody really guesses that right away..."
I mentioned how I HATED removing those FROM the Cadi's :p
I took a few pix 
Now THIS is what is cool about REAL rods:
I took notice.
OLDER people came over and took notice.
Little KIDS took notice.
I stayed outside long enough to hear him start the thing. Some little girl about 3 yrs old standing next to her dad was like "WOW!!!!!" in sheer excitement.
Yup. In Phoenix it's nice to see something different than the DAILY fart can laden Honda's and Cavaliers. Speaking of, just on my way home I got TWO diff early 90's POS Accords next to me at lights. They BOTH had like 8" Tachs mounted to the dash with some goofy bracket! WTF is the point? I just point and LAUGH at them cars

A few people have mentioned how you see Mustangs everywhere you go. Isn't the same said for Dakotas? Both of these vehicles are a dime a dozen. If you want to say your R/T is unique when compared to Mustangs, that really does not make much sense being that you are comparing an individual trim level to an entire make.

I think they sent all the RT's up to Canada. I have seen dozens around here localy. I am as far as I know or have seen in the last 4 years the only person with a 4.7L reg cab 2WD 5 speed in the Vancouver Canada area however.
Not trying to start a 4.7 vs R/T agrument, just seems strange that so many of these R/T's ended up on the west coast of Canada? Very populat truck up here, yet no so down south from what I read on this forum. I wonder why we got so many?
Oh BTW there are still many more Mustangs that R/T's however.
