At a time when gas prices are hitting everyone hard in Washington State and across the nation for that matter, our state politicians in their infinite wisdom decide we are not paying high enough gas tax.They increased our gas tax another 9.5 cents a gallon. This increase was passed during a weekend vote without any news coverage or any one at the capital in Olympia Washington. Hey Einstein, while the oil companies are making big profits, they didn't ask for and aren't getting the tax increase, your state government is. If you want to do something about it, you should email your state representatives and your governor to protest this additional tax. Get everyone that you know, who is against the tax increase to get involved. Find out who sponsored the bill, who supported it and why the Governor signed the bill into law. This is why it's important to be involved in the political process. I'm not saying become a politician but, watch the news to stay in touch with events that effect you. And VOTE! While you're off living your life and being totally oblivious to who's running and what their platform is, there's tree hugging, extreme liberals out voting their candidates into power. These people are out to make your life miserable. If they could they'd outlaw hot rodding and gasoline powered trucks and SUV's and make everyone ride the bus or trains. If you had to drive, it would be an electric vehicle. There'd be no more offroading because it disturbs the animals and trees. Once they've passed all the laws to eliminate your way of life, they'd start on all the other things that bother them. Like having our military forces in foreign countries where they don't belong. So, after getting Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Rader elected in office. We'd bring all of our troops home and discharge them since they'd be unnecessary in their America. "Now, about that oversized and expensive (and mostly unnecessary military)... Oh yes, back to reality, first we need to pass a gasoline tax increase every year until the motor heads quit driving their gas-guzzling, pollution-mobiles."

Here in Washington State, we do have an initiative system, one is coming out to repeal the gas that was recently passed here on the sly. Haven't heard of all the controversy surrounding the election of pseudo governor? Din Rossi won the election by 40 votes generating an automatic recount, he won the recount. Then the party that Christine Gregoire belongs to went to court to get votes counted that were left out because of irregularities in balloting. Here is King County Washington, we have had dead people come back from the dead and vote. In some places more people voted than were registered. Most of this occurred in the most populace county of the state. The party who sponsored Dinno Rossi for governor has taking the state to Court to get the results of the election turned over and a re-vote in place due to the large number of election irregularities in Western Washington. When you have 600 or more convicted felons voting that shouldn't, many "dead" people voting, something is wrong. We have had the greatest increase in taxes this state legislature during this legislative session than any other something wrong. If we can get the gas tax repealed through the initiative process, than we can send a clear message to legislature. I trying to do my part in my state to tell my elected office that I'm fed up with their screw the taxpayer attitude. The political corruption in our state is pretty bad.

So...that's why it is the REPUBLICANS that are trying to limit offroading? That's why it's the REPUBLICANS that aren't helping to keep the oil companies in check and keep the cost of gas down where it isn't raping every auto driver in the US?
