Subject: 4.7l vs. 5.2l torque

Does anyone have hp/torque graphs of these 2 engines, I have seached a little and cannot find one. I am real curious, because it seems my 1999 318 had WAY more low end torque towing than the new 4.7l.

Even a link would be of great help!
Thanks in advance!!!!!

This info would be VERY helpful for me too b/c I'll be looking for a V8 4x4 Dak soon. When I test drove a 4.7, it felt sluggish, and everyone here said it probably needed a tune up. I've always heard that the 5.2 has the low end and the 4.7 has the upper end.

i dynoed my 5.2 'rango with some friends 4.7 'rangos and my 'rango beat them in top and bottom end. I've got my graph and i'll see if i can aquire theirs.

i do know that mine made 184 rwhp @ 3950 rpms and 261 rwtq @ 2850 rpms.

torque stayed above 250 from 2000 rpms to 4000 rpms.

2000 hp 100 tq 250
2500 hp 125 tq 257
3000 hp 150 tq 261
3500 hp 175 tq 260
4000 hp 184 tq 250
4500 hp 175 tq 200

that's a stock 2000 5.2 Durango, rear wheel numbers

torque curve is pretty flat until it hits 4000 rpms and takes a little dive.
