Subject: Engine dying momentarily @ highway speed IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know what may be causing this problem. It's happened a couple of times. While driving on the Interstate, my rpms drop to almost 0 for a second or two, then come back up and everything is back to normal.
I've got a 98 Dakota, 5.2 V8, Auto, 4x4, ext-cab.
I would appreciate any insight.

Message: If you find out please let me know. Mine does the same thing. it used to really die for a while. now it does like yours. I read on the 3.9s there's a bad wire connection in the wire harness from the relay box on the drivers side fender, but I don't know if this is a problem with the 5.2s. If any body knows PLEASE RESPOND this is getting dangerous. I was passing a semi and she died and almost killed me.

Message: I had that problem a few years a go on my 94, 5.2. It would die while doing 70 mph and takes several minutes to start back up. I ended up changing the fuel pump and haven't had a problem since.
Hopes this helps.
