Message: Are these cams used? Those numbers aren't part numbers, at least not complete PN's anyway. The correct PN's are:
53021411AB left side
53021412AB right side

Message: When I bought mine several years ago, the part # was on the packaging, not the cams. I think I remember a purple stripe on them, almost like the old mopar performance purple shaft cams. Don't know if that's on all of them, but my stock ones weren't marked like that. Definitely make sure they are two different lengths, for a while it was a common screw up for them to send 2 lefts or 2 rights - this happened to many of us, and the guys who didn't find that til they already had the valve covers off weren't very happy...

Message: well they are the same length. they both have a light blue stripe on them. they look identical. the lobes and everything. guess I might have to look more in to it to see what I have. will teach me to buy brand new from a store. the only thing diffent in length is the tabs on the end. one is shorter than the other.

Message: That Kowalski has got some memory, I couldn't remember what made the cams look different so, I pulled out my stock cams that I have stored in the packaging the HO cams came in (clear plastic sleeves, bubble wrapped and sealed in corrugated paper [cardboard] with a light adhesive coating). The right camshaft is longer because the right cam chain is in front of the left cam chain so the sprocket is farther forward on the engine. The dowel pin is longer to accomodate the target wheel which fits between the right camshaft and the right cam sprocket.
I can't imagine the lobe positioning being the same on both cams, all of the valves open and close at different times and the mounting position on the cylinderheads are opposite each other.
However you do have legal recourse whether you purchased online or in a local store. Don't take it lying down.

Message: Thanks Rob. Some say I've got a mind like a steel trap - rusty and banned in 37 states. Isn't one about an inch longer than the other ? I'm not sure what he means by tabs - but with the colored stripe I'm guessing he's got the HOs.

Message: Yeah, the right cam is 1 1/4" longer than the left. I'm assuming that it's difference in length is a little longer than the width of the cam chain. Some other characteristics of the two cams from the back of the cam to the first lobe is 2" on the right cam. The left cam is 1 1/8" to the first lobe. The cams when placed side by side with the dowel pins at 12 o'clock don't look anything alike in length or the lobe positioning. They are definitely not interchangeable and it'd be pretty difficult to confuse the two. The numbers that were stamped into my cams were Right=062C 101489 Left=061C 151669. These were my stock cams but, the HO cams aren't wildly different. Just more lift, different duration and less overlap. It's amazing that they make as much difference as they do. It just goes to show you how important cam timing and lift are.

Message: Ok, the cams I just got from KRC (hmm...) match those numbers, but the last letter is C, not B.
I stopped in at my local dealer (where I should have gone in the first place) and the numbers ARE different than what comes up stock for my 02 Dak. I know a guy that works at my dealer parts dept and for some reason I completely forgot about it till today. He could have gotten me the cams for $109 each...hmmph.
