Message:
I have a 91 dak 5.2 auto and i am having some problems with it. Every now and then when i go to start it it revs up to about 500 rpm stumbles for a while and then dies. The i get on the gas next time it starts and rev the piss out of it and it is fine after that. It has done that a few times lately. Also when i punch from a stop or from a slow speed it stumbles and then catches and takes off. I just put autolite 3923 plugs, a K&N airfilter and a 180 thermostat in it. I plan on switching to carb and 360 heads and ditching the TBI in the summer or fall but I would like it to last until then or until I can come up with the cash. Thanks

try changing the egr..i had a buddy with an 89 ram charger 318 with the same problem. i believe the egr valve was the culprit in his system.

The EGR is behind the TB on the intake. A couple of vacuum lines and two bolts hold it in. The top of the valve is round, it has the diafram in it. Might want to reference a Haynes or Chilton Book.
