Does anyone have their windows shake really bad when they go down, I had the seal changed the sprayed the tracks with lube, still it shakes...help please

yeah it sounds like its getting caught on the outside rubber as it goes down too slow and shakes i replaced the rubber piece and it still does it, motor still works because it goes up and down right? brought to dealer and they told me to replace motor and assembly 350.00, too much for me right now

Did you use silicone spay lube when you juiced it? That stuff usually works real good. WD40 will screw up the track. Dan

yeah i went and bought a can of that stuff twice, didnt work, it looks like its going down too fast on one side than the other, like its sliding forward

pull your door panels off and check things out. My window is held by two metal clamp, and the glass dislodged from these clamps this past winter. Maybe your glass isn't sitting in the clamps right. At least get in there and see what is going on.

I'd take the door panel off and inspect it. It's not that difficult especially if you have a trim removal tool. Expect to break several plastic push pins, there's almost no way to pull the panel off without breaking these. They cost about $2 ea and you'll usually break $10-$12 worth. If you need a new motor, Rock Auto has them for between $44-$111 depending on whether you want remanufactured or new and which brand. https://www.rockauto.com/applet3.html

Hi, I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. We had the driver's side window repaired in June when he dropped inside the door. Then we had it repaired again in July after it happened again.
Now my side door dropped, and I put a piece of fuel line hose in the crack to keep it from falling down until I got it in for repair. Meantime... the driver's side fell down inside again today (3rd time) and I am upset. My husband hates my truck and I love it! These broken windows are not putting a smile on his face... is there anyone who can give me an idea why they keep collapsing after a professional install? 200+ each time is getting pretty old...

I have a 2000 Dakota $X$ and my drivers side door window does the shaking thing only when the window is dry. When it's raining, or when the window is wet, it doesnt shake on the way down. My drivers side window fell out of the track too and i used some automotive silicone to keep it in the tracks at the bottom. Also, if you are careful, you won't break any of the plastic things that hold the door panel on. I took mine off 3 times and never broke one. My next repair is going to be whatever is making a noise only when i lock the doors. Looks like it is a little white plastic piece inside the drivers side door back by the latch. Locks still work, but drives me nuts listening to it. I turned off the auto door locks at 15 MPH because it is so annoying!

I found out today from the repair shop, that the mechanisms the suppliers have been providing to repair shops for broken window gears has been PULLED FROM THE SHELVES!! This may affect a lot of people in the same situation as me. I guess the new, improved mechanism doesn't use the plastic cable works. The repairman told me there were so many complaints across the country they had to investigate and found faulty workmanship. Duh. Anyway, the new part costs a little more but the shop will not charge me to replace the part because it was faulty in the first place. Maybe this will help you... if you all don't hear from me for awhile it must be okay! Thank you.
