Message: Not a problem sometimes dealers stick badges on the new vehicles....the sales men tell me they cannot take them off or they get the shaft so I show them the Dental floss trick before taking delivery...I refuse to advertise for free!!!!

Message: AMEN!!! I do the same thing... There is no way I would take a new vehical with "the dealer" tag on. The one I bought, I told them to take it off or I didn't want it. Never seen a car dealer work that fast!!!

Message: YEAH! Tell it CaribbeanKota! I agree, I did the exact same thing. I WILL NOT take a vehicle with their advertising, for FREE for that matter. My dealer I got my 2002 from just has a licence plate with their name on it -- which was fine by me.
I was JUST thining of getting rid of my SLT badge, but I like my DAKOTA one...
THis weekend I think will be my unbadging and getting rid of stickers weekend.

Message: The idea about the dental floss to me is no less than a miracle. I have VentVisors that were not installed how I wanted them. Thought about a heat gun, but didn't do it. The floss thing is the best idea I have ever read about.
Thanks for sharing the "secret"
My 2000 R/T loves you for it.

Message: There is chemical that has the adhesive removing qualities of Laquer thinner without harming your paint....
Its called BESTINE.
A little dab above each letter let it soak for about 5 seconds add a little more and you can peel it off with your finger tips. Whatever residue is left over will remove with paper towel and a little more bestine. No problems no paint scratches.

Message: I used paper towel on mine, no harm done, but it was more like tissue paper than paper towel. Anyhow... Turtle Wax Bug and Tree Sap remover gets the adhesive off if you are simply pulling the decals off.
FYI paper towel is a thousand times less dangerous to your trucks paint job than a single trip through a car wash. We've all done it at least once... so lets get too anal eh?
