Subject: PCM for a 4.7L IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 QC 4.7L 4X4...have recently dumped some $ into some bolt-on performance including air intake, Magna Flow Cat back exhaust and a TB spacer....also have the HO Cams and Intake ('03), and bored out TB on their way as well...
I have been seeing talk about Mopar PCM upgrades...do they make this for the 4.7L? is this different than a "tuner"? which is the better route to go for my 2000 4.7L????
I appreciate the help.

Message: Availability varies by year - I beleve there a several flashes available for your '00 - B&G Chrysler, Kenne Bell, and Mike Leach. They differ from a tuner in that they a permanently "flashed" into your PCM - it becomes part of the programming. It usually also seems to offer more - in addition to more spark advance, the Leach flash on my '00 raised the speed limiter to 256 mph and provides for AC cutout under wide open throttle. The downside is you have to send the PCM off to be flashed - I ran my truck on a boneyard PCM I got through Car-Part.com for $80 while the original was flashed.
