I have a 93 dak with a supercharger. I also have the 6AL that I bought before I got the supercharger. I had some trouble with detonation so I bought a MSD retard control from Summit Racing (part number MSD 8680). It will adjust your timing from inside your cab but not in relation to the boost level as the BTM will. To do it right get the BTM and sell the 6AL.

Yes - the MSD 8762 would retard the timing in relation to the boost and will work with your 6A. You still have to dial in the amount of timing retard you need but you can do that from inside the cab. Check out summitracing.com and put in the part number. I still think the BTM is better.

The way I understand it MSD makes 2 btm. One that works with a 6 or 7 series ignition box and one that has a 6al built in. All you need is the BTM not the one with the built in 6al. The only difference is you wont have the msd rev limiter. But not having it could cause problems if you are up against the rev limiter alot. The factory rev limiter works by pulling fuel. This will lean out the mixture and cause detonation. The MSD works by shutting down random cylinders. The dial may have to be readjusted as atmospheric conditions and or fuel quality change.

thanks guys, I forgot to mention that i have the mopar PCM. I woould if possible like to not have to retard the timing. Because doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of supercharging anyways?

Thanks for your help while i am learning
