Message: If the problem is on the main seal, you`ll need a new pump. I had to replace mine and my wife`s camry on the same time. It is ridiculous but i demaged both pumps trying to make my way out of my drive way with 2 feet of snow. Very expensive stupidity. Bought 2 new shovel.

Message: Good chance it's probably the pump. I just replaced mine on a '97 5.2, cost was only about 30 bucks for a new one at autozone. Not too bad of a do it yourself job really, took about 5 hours out of a saturday afternoon, just basic hand tools although I had to rent a pulley puller from autozone too, but it was free. Good luck.

Message: I had it done at the dealer and i know it is a rip off, but i paid 500 and change for the job, and close to 600 bucks for my wife`s toyota also at the dealer. I don`t have much time or back to do this myself, but, will reevaluate this teory.
