Subject: transmission problems. IP: Logged
Message: ok here is my problem. my tranny in my 93 318ci 4x4 has shifting issues.... it shifts 2nd gear early as hell when you mash the pedal. but it wont do it if you easy into it. that is really annoying too when you come from a stop and go up a hill and its in 2nd gear at 10 mph on a seriously steep grade.
why does it do this. it doesnt slip or burn fluid or anything out of the ordinary. i have no reason to think that it will even cause a problem, but its annoying as hell. i did adjust the tv cable but not much. it shifts 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to overdrive just fine. i would appreciate input.

Message: under the air cleaner,on the pass. side of the engine, attached to the throttle body is the shift linkage, you can adjust the rpm of shifts-------------------if this isnt it check the linkage
