 Subject: 4.7 engine light

I have a 2001 4.7 quadcab 4x4. Only mods are K&N intake and filter, 3" body lift and 285/75/16s. Not long after I instelled the lift my engine light came on. The dealer told me both O2 sensors are bad and that I have a major vacum leak. O2 sensors I can replace, no problem, but the vacum leak concerns me. Dealer said it may be the fuel filler extension from the body lift isn't on good. Anyone know if this is a common problem and if the leak can cause the O2 sensors to go bad?

Check the code by turning your ignition to the accessory position 3 times, hold it the third time until the code appears in the odommeter display. What code number did you get ? P0442 or P0445 ?

When you get the code, do a search in this forum for it and you will find good info on solving the problem. I had code p0442 and thanks to this place, I diagnosed and fixed for $0. Turned out I had a hose that had pulled loose.

If you get the po456 code its your extension that is causing the check engine light to come on. Its a sealed fuel system. Fix the leak, and disconnect the negative cable and hold the key in the start position for 15-30 seconds. Re connect the battery and light will be reset. CHEERS

WOW! I hope these aren't too bad. The damn thing wouldn't stop spitting out codes. Here is what I got.

Truck runs fine with 80,000 miles. I run mobil one oil (0W30) and mobil one filters. K&N intake and filter, 3" body lift with 285/75/16s.
