Subject: rear end noise IP: Logged
Message: 01 4X4 QC I get a grinding noise from the rear end when pulling away from a stop after travelling on the hiway it only lasts a second or two. It's intermittent and never seems to show up when I take it to the shop. They changed all the fluids, checked u joints etc and said they couldn't find anything wrong. Any comments or advice ??

Message: I had a similar problem with my 2001 club cab 4.7 auto with the 3.55 limited slip rear. My mechanic said that the clutches were not releasing properly while turning after a long run on the highway. After a gear lube change and an additive for this problem, it has stopped. Hope this helps.
