affraid my heater core is leaking in my quad 01 w/ a 4.7. i have heard it is a major pain to do. Is there any sort of "silent recal" that anybody is aware of? thx

sorry to say the dealership nor the company will admit to a heater core problem. goto dealer recall section on this fourm. there is a thread of 5 pages I think of people complaining and their dealership says there is nothing worng with their heater cores. its a pain in the ass to remove. you have to remove the whole dash to get it. if you take ti to the stealershio you will have a quote of $800 to $1500 to replace it. I know when I was looking for a heater core I called 4 dodge dealerships and just for the core. it was over $400 alone. got one from I think auto zone. dont know how long it iwll last becasue I sold the truck for her. but she went through 3 cores and the truck was a 99.
