Subject: no power to fuel pump IP: Logged
Message: 1992 dakota 5.2L Only getting 8-10 volts to fuel pump When cranking engine. checked all relays. add fuel directly to intake truck runs. No codes kicked. tach works. change ECU on passenger front fender. Checked ground. Pump works when hooked directly to battery. all out of answers. any one ever had this?

Message: check relays on working circuit(do voltage drop test) could be a weak relay which checks out ok wheck tested cold but heat affects resistace so best to test it in operation or just change it.

Message: I know you said you checked all the relays, but it sounds like the AutoShutDown relay.

Message: Check this, take the relay box off the left fender with wires still attached turn the relay box upside down,now in the cluster of wires that come from that box about 3 in up wires might be corroded inside the loom...Good luck

Message: I have another dakota at home and we put all the relays into the other truck and they all work in the other truck. thanks for the help. so far the only thing we haven't tried is the wire loom sugestion. any other seggestions would be help full. Thanks for the imput Guys.

Message: i have a 3.9 i had simular problem........in the harness under relay box about 12" from relay box is a splice (feeds fuel pump,coil, computer)the splice was corroded to the point of nothing but powder maybe your is starting to corrode All the wires were red with white stripe there were 4 wires total
