Hey everyone, My check engine light came on today on my 2001 dodge dakota 4.7. It has 83000 miles on it and the code is P0442. I've never seen this code before. It seems to run fine so I dont know what to think. any help would be great. Thanks!!

This might seem silly, but check to make sure your gas cap is tight. I think I remember seeing P0442 when I had a loose gas cap, small leak in the evap sys

Make sure the fuel pressure checker cap on the fuel line going to the fuel rail is on tight. I think the 2001 model had them, not for sure though.

p0442 - EVAP control system, small leak detected.
check that your fuel cap is tight, if the code keeps coming back, replace the cap, or check/replace the lines that run to the charcoal canister (driver's side frame rail)
maybe someone else can shed some more light on this, that's about all i can suggest off the top of my head.
