Subject: Just rebuilt tranny. Stuck in neutral!?! IP: Logged
Message: I just spent the past three days pulling the tranny and T-case out of my 96 dak SB RC 318 5speed(nv3500)4X4 to rebuild them. I got the kits from Zumbrota Bearing and Gear they were really good kits and worked well. I'm the service writer at a shop here in Duluth and have access to lifts and AllData so I know I did everthing right. It's really not that difficult but I managed to mess something up.... I finished installing every thing this morning, I spent all day yesterday through to this morning at 9am, to be sure i'd get it all done before monday. I get in it and install my new shifter and it won't shift out of nuetral... I can't get any gears out of it, the shifter is rock solid and shows no sign of shifting into any gears... Anyone know anything about tranny's that can give a pointer besides pulling it out and spliting the case open agian!??! Truck 2 Landon 0 :(

Message: i,m not sure on the nv3500 but does,nt the shifter go threw the top of the trans?
sounds like the shifter is out,not in the forks,
try removing the shifter and reinstalling, you should be able to move the shifting forks with a screw driver
