Subject: 5.2vs5.9 engine balance IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 with a 318 and I have a line on a low mileage 360 out of a 01 RT. My only problem is that I have a manual and don't know if I can use the flywheel off of my 318 on the 360. Is this possible?

Message: Uhhhh, not so fast. The flywheel for the 360 is balanced for it. The 318 flywheel (a zero-balance unit) will require re-balancing for the 360. This can be done at a reputable machine shop, and will likely be less costly that buying a new one for the 360. The bolt pattern is the same.
