Subject: 5.2/5.9 v8 K&N FIPK owners, please help! IP: Logged
Message: I have a favor to ask of anyone who has installed the K&N FIPK induction system model number 57-1509, which is for the 97-99 [at least, I don't know when the model year ended] 5.2 and 5.8 V8 engines. This is NOT the one for the 4.x liter engines.
The question I have is about the C.A.R.B. number on it: is it a sticker, or is it raised/embossed into the actual unit? If anyone is able to, could you please send me an e-mail at jmstr@earthlink.net with a photo of the C.A.R.B. number? I am trying to figure out if the one I bought [used] is missing a sticker, or if someone lied when they said it was a K&N FIPK model number 57-1509. I know the 57-1509 is the correct one for the 97-99 5.x V8 engines, but I don't know how much more [model years] they covered.
If someone can tell me and send a picture, so I can see where it is supposed to be, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Message: I have this FIPK on my 99 r/t but it's in the shop right now. If I remember correctly it's just a sticker. Also K&N has sent out letters stating that the intake tubes need to be replaced. The tubes don't meet the quality standards are being replaced for free, including free shipping.

Message: Thanks for the update! If you can, please check and post an update if it isn't a sticker. I'll have to check into the K&N replacement issue, as it is fairly new. Does being a second owner matter? and questions like that are what I'll have to ask. thanks
