Subject: Blower Motor not working IP: Logged
Message: I have an '03 Quad cab....4.7 L
Blower motor only worked on high.
It appears that this "blower motor resistor" is a problem that is very common.
Unlike other dakota models, this resistor can be found in the cab....passenger side....under the glove box. Has a 5-wire harness, 2 bolts that hold it up into the duct-work.

Message: Sure does sound like a blower motor resistor to me. I'm guessing since they put it in the cab it's probably a "computer board" style instead of typical coiled up "wire" creating resistance. Should be pretty easy access just pull it out and see if it looks burned or damaged anywhere. I've seen the "computer board" style have scratches across the circuit causing everything to fail but the high fan setting. Which makes no sense to me being the high fan setting is the thinnest wiring/circuitry. Hope this helps some.

Message: Just replaced my resistor and they have changed the style of them. Apparently the one the 03's came with would over heat and fail..
Paid $10 for the new one and put it in.. my blower still doesnt work.. No idea at this point
