Ok I finally got my TPS adjusted to .74v. Then I ran up the road to check it out. Once I got the motor to operating temp I jumped on it. It ran 1st gear all the way out near redline and shifted then second went to about 5100 RPMs, (redline is 4800) and it backfired. I let off the gas real quick so I don't know if it ever would have shifted. I didn't get a check engine light so I don't know if the TPS mod had anything to do with this. It seems to run ok and it's not down on power at all, but I have been hesitant to try that again until I posted here. Does anyone have any ideas? 1995 Dakota SLT, 5.2L Mag, AT, 2wd.
