Subject: REAR END JUMP. IP: Logged
Message: GOING IN A CURVE, EVEN AT SLOWER SPEEDS AROUND 40, IF THERES A BUMP IN THE ROAD, ITS SEEMS LIKE THE ASS END TRIES TO JUMP AROUND, NOT SLIDE BUT ACTUALLY JUMP LIKE THE REAR IS SO STIFF. ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM? SOLUTIONS? 99CC DAKOTA 5.2 2-WHEEL DRIVE. THANKS

Message: The stock shocks aren't well suited to the spring rates in an unloaded truck. Lowering your rear tire pressure will help, so will getting better shocks. Many report good results with Edelbrock IAS; if you do a search here on the topic you will find other shock recomendations as well.

Message: I have an o1 sport 2wd, and i upgraded to the edelborck IAS, and the ride is much better, but most of the hopping around is the posi kicking when the tires come off the ground. If you have posi that is half the problem

Message: When my '01 RC 4.7 LSD was stock, the rear end whould hop when taking a curve over bumpy pavement. The first thing I did was add a R/T rear swaybar. That alone helped considerably. I have Edelbrock IAS shocks as well now. Now, you really have to be driving aggressively to get ANY kind of hopping action in curves. Well worth the effort/expense to alter the Dak's attitude.
