Subject: abs/brake light? IP: Logged
Message: I know there has been some post's on this problem with the abs and brake light on and most of the problem was the rear diff. sensor. But my question is when that sensor is bad does the abs still function? My lights are on and my abs is not working could it be that sensor or the abs module? Also sometimes when I come to a stop my check gauges light comes on and my oil pressure gauge drops. Any ideas? Thanks,Marc

Message: I think this is what you are asking: When the ABS light is on, the ABS system is disabled.
For the other concern: Have your oil pressure checked with a manual gauge. That will help you determine if you have a real oil pressure issue or if it may be the oil pressure sending unit that is your failure.

Message: I was told the ABS/brakes would not function properly if I had to stop quickly if the ABS/brake lights were on. I replaced the rear axle speed sensor for around $52, (bought it at my local Dodge dealer)(with a friend installing it). It only took less than 30 minutes to fix. Now the lights are off. My only problem now is the check engine light stays on. Trying to figure it out now.
