Subject: Looking for a good intake manifold IP: Logged
Message: What are my options for the 360 on my 2K 4x4?
Search didn't reveal much other than the M1 manifold. Some are using Hughes. Does Edelbrock make an intake manifold for this motor? And, what would be a good cam combination with a particular intake?
Thanks,
Kris

Message: The M1 is the only choice. The Hughes is a modified stocker.

Message: Okay. So, we're limited to ONE choice. What sort of free-enterprising is that?!!
Anyway, can someone recommend a good cam with the M1 then? And, what other modifications are required to complete that package?
Thanks,
Kris

Message: free enterprise is made up of supply and demand. there's no demand.
For the cam, you could try a KRC 220 or something comparable.

Message: Cam change really requires the heads to be changed as well in order to get the full benefit. One without the other really limits the benefits.

Message: Well, I have headers already. Soon, the complete 3" exhaust will be completed with a ss Flowmaster 50 series, and a new catalytic converter. I have reflashed my ecu with a Hyptertech programmer, and I have a cold air intake. That's about it for the performance mod's unless one considers:
3823 Autolite plugs
IAT relocation
plenum leak fixed
Mobil 1 synthetic oil
After all these, I wanted to start looking towards a better intake manifold, and perhaps a cam. Not sure I want to replace my heads at this point. Is there not a good cam that can make improvements with stock heads?

Message: Ok, if you don't want to go all the way, try a KRC 206 or 206X. If there were any single best cam, everyone else would be out of business.

Message: You might consider a set of 1.7 rockers. They do well on engines still running the stock cam. Only problem is you need to slightly modify the oil baffles in the valve covers in order to make them fit. Then if you eventually decide to go with a cam you will need to get a custom ground one to go with the rockers, or the Mopar RT cam with is a decent match with 1.7s.
