Well,I have the same problem with my 93 5.2.Backfires out exhaust on decel. My take, I think it is a bad valve.maybe sticking open a little. It only does it when it is warmed up not when cold.It don't give any codes or anything.I was going to take it apart in a few weeks to see what's up.But I need to see how I feel.

When I talk about valves,I am saying that something could be wrong in one of the heads. You need to do or have a compression test done to see if you have a bad valve or valve seat in one of your heads. If you have a valve sticking open just a little then it will pop or backfire, either out the carb or TB if intake or if it is an exhaust valve it will pop or backfire out the exhaust.
Now you say you had new exhaust put on.Well more than likly it was doing it before you got the new pipes, the reason I say that is because mine did the same thing and once I got my new pipes it made it more noticable or uh embaressing.Don't take what I say to heart ask other people and get their take on this, but this is what I am thinking it could be...Hope it helps...And before you dig into you trucks motor or trans do your home work.

Good luck and keep me informed!!!!
