Subject: New motor IP: Logged
Message: I currently have a 3.9L V6 in my 03' QC. I want to put something bigger, say a 402 Magnum crate engine. I am not a motor smart guy so I would like some advice/knowledge/help on how big of a job this would be. I would like to know what other parts I would need to buy to make it work, before I call the engine shops. Thank's in advance for the info.

Message: sounds like a great project. starting with a 5.9 quad give you the motor to do that, then just stroke but working with what you have, seems like just a motor swap. is the 3.9 hooked to the same tranny as the 5.9. if not, won't handle the power. are you sure it's not a 3.7? that's a whole different story.

Message: Unless your engine and drivetrain are junk, you are far better off trading up to a QC with a 5.9.

Message: Yeah, you are probably right. By the time and money I would have to put into it, I may as well traded up and went from there. I have seen the light.
