Not sure what you exactly looking at, but my '00
4.7L has a black plastic plug and it turns to the left (Like loosening a nut)

it turns more than a 1/4 turn, something like 170 degrees(going from memory).

Thanks for the info. I see there are several types of draincocks and some radiators are not equiped with any. This one was a 1/4 turn but needed to be pulled out as it was being turned. Very little water comes out of the drain on this one. Must be a smaller opening than the old style metal radiators.
