hello all i have a pretty mutch bone stock 91 extended cab 2wd dakota except exhaust a 40 series flow.but im having a backfire in the exhaust at deceleration only when u let off hard easy let off wont do it.and its the 5.2 v8 motor just wondering if its a major problem nothing else seems to be wrong with motor it only has 82000 miles not bad for a 91.also another problem when i get up to speeds at 70mph its seems like it dont want to go anymore all tires and rims are new and have been balanced 3 times.also it only idles at 6 to 700 rpm thought that was kinda low..thanks any help would be appreciated

Check for exhaust leaks. They will sometimes cause backfires.

whats the easiest way to check for exhaust leaks from cat to muffler is all new...

well you can take your hand and run it around all the connections and feel for air leaks while the engine is running.

I owuld guess thats the easiest way I could think of

also i have a bad idle like 600rpm its kinda rough and sometimes to 1000rpm sometimes 400rpm lol i dont know but i have all these problems and no check engine light please help checked for leaks no exhaust leaks could my idle be the tps
