My wifes '99 Dakota is almost paid off. iwas thinking of finding a wrecked Hemi Ram to pull the engine and drop into her truck. My Ram weighs about 5000 lbs. What does an xtended cab dakota wiegh? This would be a toy for the KB blower to go on and leave my Ram naturally aspirated.

Hersbird listed some gross weights a while back. 2WD curb weights (no driver but full tank) RC 4.7/5spd 3759; RC R/T 4026; CC R/T 4224; Ram RC 1500 4635. Based on this, a CC Dak should be about 3950-4000. The 4.7 had 50 pound weight savings over the 5.2.

because it makes 345hp 375ft lbs while the 5.9 makes 245-250hp 335-345ft lbs
DO MAGNUMS SUCK OR ARE HEMIS JUST BAD-ASS ?
all dodge engines suck but magnums really suck that is why my 2.5 I4 makes the same amount of hp as dodge's 3.9 V6(in an altima and SE-R spec V..I only get 165 :-?)

the hemi is a different type of engine. It's a HEMIspherical engine as opposed to the standard V shape...that makes it better. I'm not an engineer, so I don't know why. But I do know they were very common in the 70's muscle cars. The engine size is all relative and depends on engineering how much hp it produces. Just look at tiny little Porshe engines, they produce a lot of hp.

Its the always the self absorbed dork who drives to work in his Japanese car, wearing his Italian suit, checking the time on his swiss watch, after having breakfast at home using all his appliances that are made in china, that goes into work and checks his stocks on his malaysian labtop and wonders why his investments in american companies fell another couple points on the market that day.
Funny how that works out isn't it? It may not politically correct to call it a little chink car, but it certainly makes a point about buying american.
