Message: But why are you asking in this thread ? Do you know its torque that matters more than hp for the kind of pulling being discussed here ? And were you wondering peak, or at some particular rpm ?

Message: As far as offroad power goes.... I have a '01 Quadcab 4X4 with the 4.7L auto tranny.
I have never had a problem off road, the 4.7L has enough power for everything I have attempted.
From the Sierra Nevadas in California to the Black and Cerbat mountians in Arizona and all the desert areas in between.
Good offroad driving practices and good tires make for a lot of fun with this engine.
