Subject: Exhaust cut-out IP: Logged
Message: I was looking around the garage at my Dad's house and I found an exhaust cut-out that I had bought for my Turbo Eclipse when I had it. I never installed it. I was thinking of putting it on my Dak. What do you guys think?
If anyone doesn't know what it is, it's a 'Y' pipe with a cable hooked to a butterfly valve. It flows through the normal 'Legal' exhaust pipes then when you pull the cable, it diverts to another pipe, usually a straight pipe. I would probably put it after the O2 sensor but before the mufflers.
Any thoughts?

Message: Anywhere downstream of the O2 sensors is the place to put it. Why would it be illegal? If motorcycles can run around without mufflers, makin' noise and bothering folks, why not you too?
There's my thoughts cause yew axed fer them.

Message: I predict that if you install it, you'll see a significant performance and driveability loss because your fuel injection system won't be able to compensate for the sudden exhaust leak. If you do install it, let us know what happens.
