Subject: 93 - 5.2 Belly Pan Gasket
IP: Logged

Message:
I suspect that my gasket is gone as oil consumption on my truck continues to be minimum 1 to 1.5 litres of oil between oil changes. Truck does not appear to burn oil as exhaust pipe is dry, truck leaks no oil at all. I did the test as outlined in speed tweaks, and found the results to indicate the belly pan gasket is sound. The truck is still original, with 140,000 kms, and has been in the family since new, so I know the belly pan has never been replaced. I still see a thin film of oil/crankcase material in the bottom of the intake. Can anyone comment on this? Is a thin layer in bottom of intake normal? (from the PCV)
Or should it be clean and dry? Thanks.
