Subject: Leaking Rad IP: Logged
Message: I have a 93 CC 5.2 2WD, the original rad is at times leaking steam out of the top portion of the rad where the top tank clamps onto the core. Has anyone used some sort of additive to stop this? It only happens intermitently, the rad seems sound otherwise.

Message: Brad it is time to replace your rad. I have the same truck but 4x4 and I have replaced my rad twice. The stock rads are a peice off junk on the dakota, my rad tech has seen alot of leaking rads in the v8 dakotas.
If you can spend alittle extra and get a good after market rad, and don't get one with those crappy plastic caps and finger joints...
As for the additive don't waste your time most of them are just temporary fix.
