Subject: Replacing Factory Muffler...

Hi, I have a 1992 dakota w/5.2L V8 engine it. I think that my exhaust is factory stock. All I really want is a good sound out of my truck, but I am also on a low budget. If I switched my factory turbo muffler only with a FLOWMASTER or MAGNAFLOW muffler, would there be sound difference??

From my readings, Flowmaster will be loud, very loud on highway.

I read around and chose a Magnaflow for my 02 4.7...VEYR happy with it. In-cab sound is a bit louder, but sounds very nice. Outside side is louder and aggressive, but its not annoying at all, not even on the highway.

Some would prefer a little more volume than what I have with my Magnaflow, but I've only got ~200 miles on mine and its already noticably louder than when brand new.

I have had a flowmaster 40 on mine for about a year.
I thought about the 50 for lower volume level...
but I have been VERY happy with the 40. I have a 99 5.2, and I really didnt notice any higher noise level in the cab. Outside, it does have a distinctive rumble.
I think that both are quality mufflers....and dont know that the in cab volume will be too much different.
