Subject: I got New track Times and Dyno #s

Well I put my truck on the dyno a couple of
weeks ago and it wasnt as pretty as I thought.

Max H.P. was 180 @ 4000 rpm
Max Torque was 250 @ 3300 rpm

This was with my performance computer!!! Im
not impressed.

My track times with this computer were the
absolute best with all 3 times with the same
track time and trap speed were

15.541 @ 85 mph

My second gear to third shift felt like it was
hanging so thats probably why it wasnt
trapping higher. I guess I will need more
mods to get this computer working better for
my truck!

I was quite dissapointed but I do have a
question???

What should the timimg advance be on my
dakota at the best....Usually the best it gets is
about 31 degrees when I rev it up in the
driveway.....anyone know if my computer is
even working right??

don't get too down on your truck unless you ran it on that dyno before the mods and saw no real gain. A dyno is often more useful as a tuning tool to find improvements, then as a "bragging rights - o - meter". Mid 15's doesn't sound bad for a basically stock setup and a shift kit and computer, in my humble opinion. :-) Am I mistaken?

What are your gears and differential like? If you're running and open dif and 3.55's then thats probably not to far off. Switch to a auburn lsd and 4.10's and you'll probably be in the 14's easy.

I have the open diff and 3.55s but i did a
decent launch at around 2 grand and still got
that 15.5 with miniscule tire burn. I put on ,y
origina for now and wait to see how it does
with headers and full exhaust.
