Message: I have a 92 2x4 cc dak with the 5.2 magnum and I get about 11-12mpg in the city and on the highway I get 15-16mpg. It's in need of a tune up but the magnum's aren't known for their eco-friendliness especially in such a heavy vehicle.

Message: I got back to back tanks, 87 octane, within 4 hours of each other. All interstate driving. The first tank was 13, the next was 17. My engine's got some strange quirks. I'd say average 14-15 highway and around 10 city. Have got as bad as 7 though during an exceptionally heavy foot week.

Message: My 99 5.2L 4x4 5 speed CC does pretty good then.
I've found that by going 60mph on the freeway instead of 70mph; my mileage increases from 15.3mpg to just a hair over 19mpg. It takes longer to get where I'm going; but, I'm saving money and I have more time to take in the scenery.
In the city; which is actually a combination of city and highway, I've been getting around 14.5mpg.
My truck has the 3.55 axle ratio.
The only mod on my truck right now is a 40 series Flowmaster muffler; I am expecting I'll see 20.5 mpg once I rig up some kind of better air intake than that stock contraption.
I like the sound but overall I am dissapointed with the Flowmaster. I've seen some 3rd part dyno comparisons between it and others. If I had it to do over again; I'd go with a Magnaflow muffler.
