Hey! I'd like to know also.
It would suck if my truck had the same equipment as the trucks in the recall and I couldn't get them replaced.

I have a deposit on a 04 QC AWD drive that I
have not yet picked up. I have asked the dealer
to research and will post what they determine.

Currently the recall covers all dakotas and durangos made in 2000,2001,2002,2003. Warranties on 2004's are being extended.

Having spent some time in the manufacturing world where part tracking was required in case of recall, I know this about what Daimler-Chrysler knows:
They know exactly which manufacturer's lot # ball joints went into which vehicles.
They know all the vehicles affected, their date of production, their VIN.
They know which dealerships all these vehicles were shipped to, and the names and addresses of the original purchaser(s).
Just take a look around and under those vehicles of yours - barcode labels all over the place ( on my 2004 anyway, and they were hell to get off, too!
I'll bet they also know the actual number of vehicles these defective ball joints went into is about double the amount they've agreed to recall ( I can't imagine why else they agreed to the recall so quickly).
That's my $2/100

Donald - where did you get that information ? Other sources say recall is only 4WD '00 through mid year '03; with a warranty extension for 2WD those years only.
