Subject: 99 Dakota Bypass Hose Replacement IP: Logged
Message: I got the water pump off the end of the bypass hose and would like replace the bypass hose. The A/C compressor and the Alternator are located on a bracket above the bypass hose. The Bypass hose has a hose clamp on the water pump end. Can anyone tell me how the other end is connected to the BLOCK? Is there another hose clamp? Do I have to remove the A/C Compressor, the Alternator and the Bracket to get to the other end of the hose? It is only a five dollar item but how long will it take to replace it?

Message: I changed the bypass hose when i did the waterpump on my '97. Mine howeve did not have a hose clamp on either end, water pump or block. But definitely replace it while you're in there, mine actually had a small pinhole in it. And yes, I did have to take the AC and alternator bracket off to get the job done. Worth it to do it now rather than later.
