Subject: 99 Dakota Bypass Hose IP: Logged
Message: I am replacing the water pump on my 5.2 Lt Dakota and I went through the fan clutch ordeal; ended up wacking the wrench twice and walla' it was loose. I now have the water pump removed and it is hanging on to the bypass hose. Uggh! The hose is frozen to the pump and the a/c compressor and bracket is above the bypass hose. ANYONE KNOW AN EASY WAY TO DETACH THE HOSE WITHOUT DISTROYING THE BYPASS HOSE?????

Message: I replaced mine last week on my 99 Dak; under $5 from NAPA for the hose. Look where it is... do you want to waste your time getting to it in the future when you can just change it now for under $5. ??? Cut the effer off! :-)
Oh, I changed my T-stat too. Again, it's cheap and I am already in there! Under $5 from AutoZone for that part.
