Message: Anyone know of a performance chip for a 2004 QC 4X4 4.7 V-8? I do not want anything that will mess up the mpg, already bad enough. Improvement in mpg would be great. Thanks.

Message: I've looked into those as well; but from what I've seen, you might get an improvement in MPG but you also have to use a higher octane and more expensive gas with them.
Here is a good list I've found of some of them...

You just have to do the math; and see if buying more expensive gas will still save you money overall if your getting better MPG.

Message: nobody makes a plug and play chip for the 4.7 yet. Jet makes one, but from everything I have read, it does nothing. The problem is that the PCMfor the 4.7 is basically a learning computer. If you plug something in that changes the settings, the PCM counter-acts those settings back to factory settings. The only options for reprogramming your 4.7 is to take out the PCM and send it in to someone to re-flash it. KRC, Mike Leach and Co, Kenne Belle, and ASE are your only options(that I know of). Each has their own differences, but all will cost 350-550 bucks, and you will not be able to use your truck until it comes back in.
