I just put in a rebuilt 44re in my 97 5.2l sport 4wd. Everything went smooth on the install but when I drive it, shifting from 1 to 2 it goes into 2 drops back into 1 real quick and comes back into 2 all in a matter of a couple of seconds. The kickdown band was properly adjusted, to no avail. From 2 to 3 it generally does not want to shift into 3 unless I help it with the throttle (let off and on). I have adjusted the governor shift cable in little increments to each extreme but that was not enough to fix the issue (tried the proper way as well using WOT and setting it on that) nothing has really worked.

The engine has all the power but the tranny is not responding in a reliable fashion. The only time everything shifts smooth is if I treat the throttle in granny mode! Needless to say that is not how I like to drive. I would appreciate some help!
