Message: mild cam, not so much i think. but if you go too much ligher with lift, you may need new springs, if you raise your powerband with the cam, you may choose a manifold with shorter intake runners like im doing on my trucks 4.7

Message: Mopar's own Magnum RT cam is a great choice. Get the package so it'll include springs, etc. The performance pushrods are a good idea since there's more stress with added cam lift, and the HP units have thicker walls to better resist flex at high rpm. This cam is also nicely compatable with a supercharger. This setup works well with the stock intake, but your upper rpm power would improve with an M1 intake manifold. If you're seriously going to a supercharger, skip the high performance PCM. It will add too much ignition advance. The stock PCM has a more blower-friendly ignition curve.

Message: In my opinion, i would rec. a cam with the lift in the .515" range, duration @.050 around 225 degrees, and the overlap near the 70 degree range. Just my opinion

Message: The RT cam with 1.7 RRs is a pretty potent combo in a 318. Definitely need new springs if you go that route.

Message: MP claims about 46hp gain (with a 360, but the 318 would be close) with the cam, headers, exhaust, hot PCM. Now, adding the cam will help lower rpm power, and givea modest hp increase, maybe 15 over your peak now. Naturally, you can go with hotter cams, but then you will hit the wall trying to feed those high lifts with a stock intake tuned for torque and low rpm running. You will really need to go for intake mods, or an M1. I was looking at more of a good cam that'll really wake up the low-midrange, add to top end, and be good with a blower, but doesn't require other intake mods. It'll run better with mods or an M1, but it won't choke like hotter cams would. If you're able to step up with an intake manifold swap, certainly, you'll get more with a hotter cam, perhaps enough that the blower may not be such a priority. The Magnum RT is .458/.467 lift with 1.6:1 rockers.
