Subject: Coolant in oil? IP: Logged
Message: Hello. Today I was checking the oil in My 97
ram with a 318 and I noticed a liitle milky
looking stuff on the top of the dipstick. I wiped
the stick and now the oil seems to be perfectly
clean. I drove about 40 miles checked it again
and the oil is still clean. Is it possible I maybe
had a little condenstation in my engine or
does this sound like the beginings of a head
gasket problem? Thanks.

Message:
Keep an eye on your coolant level and drive the truck a lot, mark
the coolant level while hot with a crayon to do this check.
From reading what you wrote it sounds like nothing more than
condensation.
Or, let's hope so anyway.

Message: Replace your pcv valve, change the oil, and make sure you have a fresh air filter and clean the breather element in your air box. It should take care of most of the condensation in your engine.
